:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Bill Bunkum -- Dark fantasy that promises more to come : The world of Saturday Shepherd is interesting, and it's obvious that there's more lore and secrets to be unveiled in sequels. The author clearly enjoys a number of genres, Underworld, Vampire the Masquerade, Werewolf, Harry Potter (but much darker) and still manages to write both an original and compelling story. This is the sort of world that you'll find yourself daydreaming about and immersed in; you'll wonder what's in store next, and how in the hell this or that character will get out of trouble. Still, the mysteries presented aren't too arcane (no pun intended) nor off-the-wall but instead come naturally and flow in a sensical and delightful way. This book took me back to my later teenage years and reminded me of why I loved reading in high school. There’s sarcasm that makes you laugh out loud. There’s real life teenage struggles that anyone can relate to. There’s suspense that makes you keep turning pages. It’s not scary, but it’s intense enough that you might start to wonder if there aren’t supernatural creatures walking amongst us.
